Jack Jordan Sr. Obituary

Mr. Jack Thomas Jordan was born on October 11, 1928 to Elenora and Gerald Jordan in Indianapolis IN.

Jack was raised by God fearing parents that instilled in him to put God first.  Jack learned to love God and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age.

Jack grew up in Lockfield Gardens and attended Crispus Attucks High School from which he graduated. After graduating, Jack enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 where he fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953.

Jack loved roller skating and detailing cars.  He was known to keep a clean ride.

Jack Thomas Jordan was the father of four, Jack Thomas Jordan Jr., and Kim Jordan from his first marriage with Mrs. Dorothy Rutland Jordan (Simmons); Lisa Anne Jordan and Anthony T. Jordan from his last marriage with Joanne Jordan (Stuckey).

Jack was a strict yet loving disciplinarian that let his children know to put God first and you can do anything you put your mind to.  Jack was known to take in anyone who needed a place to lay their head.  He had a kind heart but did not play……He was also known for humorous and witty comebacks.  If you didn’t do what he asked, he would remind you about “Mr. Do Good.”

Mr. Jordan had a strong work ethic and was a good provider for his family.  He was amongst the first African Americans to purchase property in the Kessler area.  Jack was employed by Bridgeport Brass and the Indiana Department of Public Works retiring from the Asphalt Materials division in 1994.

Mr. Jack Thomas Jordan peacefully departed this life on June 2, 2019, 10:48 p.m. at the age of 90 years with his son by his side.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and one sister.

He leaves behind to carry on his legacy and memory, his children: Jack Thomas Jordan Jr. (Regina), Kim Jordan Brown, Lisa Anne Jordan Jarrell (Andamo) and Anthony T. Jordan (Rhynika); grandchildren, Taryn, Anthony Jr., Armani, Kayla and Corey;  four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
