William Hershall Carter

Mr. William “Billy” Carter, son of Otis and Pauline Carter, was born February 24, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

William received his primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public Schools, graduating from George Washington High School in 1970.  He began working for ConAgra Foods in 1973 and remained employed there for 45 years.

William enjoyed life and was an avid bowler for many years.

Mr. William “Billy” Carter was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Carter.  He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his devoted wife, Veronica Phinisee Carter; sons, Darrin (Kristi) Carter, Darryl (Mariyam) Lewis and Danyon McClure; daughters, Denidra Carter Warren, Lavenia Carter, Gwendolyn Carter and Chanel McClure; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Carter Williams; mother-in-law, Carol Young; father-in-law, Fred (Sarah) Phinisee Sr.; best friend, Robert Frieson along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
