Truville "Chris" Christian was born on May 1, 1936 in Marietta, Georgia to the late Mr. Henry & Mrs. Patty Christian. He was the youngest of three to this union preceded in death by his brother, Mr. Gerald Christian and Ms. Charlotte McLemore. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior at the Mt. Enon Baptist Church in Dayton, OH. He attended Dayton Public Schools. He entered the U.S. Air Force and served as a top aircraft mechanic for the 3rd 825th Air Division at the Little Rock, Arkansas Air Force Base where he worked on the Boeing B-47. Christ excelled as a top aircraft mechanic receiving a number of certificates and recognitions for his service.
He received an Honorable Discharge and after his tenure in the Air Force, Christ then returned to Dayton, OH where he continued to pursue his profession. In 1968, he relocated to Indianapolis, IN to join his older brother (Gerald Christian) and continued his skilled trade with Allison Transmissions, a Division of General Motors for over 15 years.
Christ was an avid fisherman who enjoyed photography, motorcycling and a NASCAR race car enthusiast. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #249 in Indianapolis, IN.
He was preceded in death by his son, Truville "Chris" Christian, II of Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his children: Eric T. Christian (Tamara) of Colorado Springs, CO, Jerald L. Christian of Dayton, OH, Rodney V. Christian (Angie) of Dayton, OH, Jason Christian (Meka) of Indianapolis, IN and Donnale Christian-Nance of Indianapolis, IN. along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
