Jerelene Felicia Burks

Ms. Jerelene Felicia Burks, affectionately known by her nickname “Beanie” was born to Freddie and Jerelene Jarrett on April 4, 1972  in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Jerelene started school in Heilbronn, Germany while the family was stationed there with the United States Army. When the family settled in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1979, Jerelene attended IPS school 53. She later attended Grassy Creek Elementary, Creston Junior High School, and Warren Central High School.

Jerelene’s creative nature led her to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursue a career in cosmetology. She completed her cosmetology training in October 2018. Jerelene also spent much of her time caring for others. She worked for several years as a dietary technician at Methodist Hospital, she drove a school bus, and provided home healthcare and rehabilitation assistance for the sick and elderly.

Jerelene dedicated herself to Jesus Christ early in her life.  She often sent her children inspirational text messages and scriptures to guide them through life. She was also an avid fan of TV comedy and drama and spent lots of her spare time watching shows like “Frasier” and “Monk.”

Ms. Jerelene Felicia Burks departed this earthly life on November 29, 2018 at the age of 46.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Jerelene Jarrett, and a sister, Josilyn.

She leaves behind three wonderful children, Felicia Burks, Jermon Burks, Josilynn Burks, and a precious granddaughter, Isabella. She leaves behind four siblings, Kenneth (Lakonia), Kelvin (Cynthia), Marlow, and Keith. She also leaves a host of other relatives, including aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors.  She is loved by all and will be greatly missed.
