Betty Joan Kendrick Hopson daughter of Mary Bush and Norman Kendrick Sr. was born December 3, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Betty professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church. After many years, she joined the Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church, August 27, 2017 under the pastorate of Rev. Nello Holman.
She attended Indianapolis Public Schools 24 and 17. She loved music and movies. She had a great love for her children. Betty also enjoyed taking bus trips. She and her children relocated to California where they remained until her illness. She was moved to Washington state with her granddaughter, Nicole Pierce who became her caregiver until her death. She had a devoted friend, Vernon Casey who preceded her in death.
Betty Kendrick Hopson departed this earthly life on January 10, 2019 at the age of 80 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, sons, James Grider, Stephen (Sheba) Grider; daughter, Jenice Grider; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Lenore (Lee) Nelson and brother, Norman Kendrick along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
